Project story

Kuwait's Culture & History Revealed to the World

The Concept

Kuwait's presence at World Expo 2025 Osaka needed to do more than represent a nation: it needed to translate an entire identity for a global, largely unfamiliar audience. Kook built the narrative foundation around "Desert and Sea," a theme rooted in Kuwait's geography, and positioned the country as a lighthouse of guidance bridging deep-rooted heritage with a forward-looking vision. The story wove together civilizational milestones — from the Kuwait Towers to the founding of the Gulf Cup in 1970 and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development — into a single, coherent thread. Every visual and written element, from pavilion signage to exhibition text, was built bilingually in Arabic and English, giving international visitors, delegates, and media an immediate, legible entry point into Kuwait's culture, economy, and ambitions on one of the world's largest diplomatic and cultural stages.

The Content System

Behind the pavilion sat an entire content architecture. Kook produced a modular library of exhibition cards, data visualizations, and heritage features covering Kuwait's marine biodiversity, national milestones, education system, and the evolving role of Kuwaiti women in society. Each piece was designed to work standalone or as part of a larger installation, giving the pavilion team flexibility across physical displays, screens, and digital touchpoints. Content was structured for dual audiences from day one: Arabic-first storytelling for regional and diaspora audiences, and English (with Japanese localization for key touchpoints) for the host country and international visitors. The system balanced hard data — species counts, historical dates, economic milestones — with emotive cultural storytelling, ensuring the pavilion read as credible and substantive to policymakers while remaining accessible and engaging to everyday Expo visitors walking through Osaka's Grand Ring.

The Campaign

Over 18 months, Kook ran the full social media presence for the pavilion under @kuwait_expo2025, turning a single event into a sustained, real-time story. The campaign moved through distinct phases: countdown content building anticipation toward 2025, behind-the-scenes construction and rehearsal coverage, livestreamed inauguration ceremonies, and ongoing on-the-ground reels once the pavilion opened. Content was localized across Arabic, English, and Japanese to serve Kuwaiti, regional, and Japanese host audiences simultaneously, with formats ranging from Instagram carousels to short-form video reels reaching thousands of engagements per post. The result was a digital presence that ran in parallel with the physical pavilion, giving Kuwait's World Expo 2025 Osaka participation a continuous public narrative — from first announcement to opening day and beyond — rather than a single moment confined to the exhibition grounds.
